Our Choirs and Musical Teams  

Adult Choir  The Adult Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Brenda Hetzel, and worship leader, Mrs. Laura Surface, provides anthems, leads the congregation in hymns, and on occasion, performs special cantata performances for holidays.  Approximately 18 members and the accompanist, meet on Wednesday evenings for rehearsals at 6:30 pm. They participate in the Panhandle Association Music Fest and enjoy annual Christmas caroling to area facilities.

Praise Team:  The Praise Team (Praise Band) at First Baptist started in the fall of 2000 adding a new dimension to the worship experience by including the very popular contemporary Christian music style.     The faithful  service by our team members have enhanced the worship experience for all during the worship services.    Current members of the Praise Team include: Fred Surface (Percussion), Bill Frank (Bass Guitar and vocals), Laura Surface (keyboard, acoustic guitar and vocals), Nicole Viars - (Keyboard and Piano), Vince Viars (electric bass)  Chris Surface, (acoustic guitar and vocals)  Debbie Smith, Doris Estep, and Brenda Hetzel on vocals. They bring a mix of contemporary, praise choruses, and traditional hymns to the worship experience.
