CURRENT EVENTS AND SCHEDULE

February 5 - Sunday

Church Ministry Business reports for October, November and December 2011 are due in the church office today.

9:30 AM Sunday School for all ages. There is a nursery available.

11:00 AM Worship Service. Communion Sunday. A nursery is available and pre-school Church.

12:20 PM The youth group will sponsor our annual "Soup-er Bowl Luncheon" following worship service. If you would like to make a soup to share for the luncheon, please sign up in the Narthex.

February 6 - Monday

Volunteers are needed for moving the Library to the third floor elevator lobby. If you can help in any way, please contact the Church office at 304-242-7284.

February 8 - Wednesday

3:30 PM Homework Haven

5:00 PM There will be no Wednesday night dinners during the months of Feb. and March.

6:00 PM AWANA Birthday Party Night. Wear a party hat.

6:00 PM Youth Group Bible Study

6:15 PM Adult Bible Study - Sanctuary.

6:30 PM Choir Rehearsal

12:15 PM Church Dinner. Meat, rolls and beverages will be provided. Those with last names ending A-M please bring a dessert and salad, and those with last names N-Z please bring a casserole and salad to share

Looking ahead to "YouthAnasia 2012." Volunteers will be needed in the following areas; Hospitality, medical, security, housing, registration and more. If you are able to set aside a few hours or for the whole event, please contact Jay or Brenda through the church office at 304-242-7284. THANKS!

CELEBRATING OUR 179th YEAR IN 2012

First Baptist Church has maintained a continual evangelical Baptist witness in Wheeling, WV since 1833. The present Church building, dedicated in 1960, consists of five floor levels, all easily accessible by our state of the art elevator system, opening on each floor to lobbies, three of which are flooded with natural light from the outdoors. The Church is situated along historic National Road in picturesque Wheeling. Surrounded by the beauty of renown parks and the Ohio River, our community is rich in tradition and resources. At First Baptist, we continue to uphold our religious tradition through a solid Bible based scriptural doctrine offering Worship services, Bible studies, Sunday school classes, many Youth Programs, including AWANA, and special events for all ages. This Church is affiliated with the Panhandle Baptist Association and the West Virginia Baptist Convention.

WINTER DISCIPLESHIP CLASSES

Sunday evening beginning February 12, 2012

Class options include; JAMES: A Beth Moore study which will be taught by Gretchen Wright. A signup sheet is in the narthex and the cost will be $15 for the book. "LIVING ON THE EDGE" - about experiencing God's grace, not earning His love through performance. Cost is $6 for the study guide and an additional $10 if you would like a book.
