Children's Ministry:
The children have many wonderful programs and activities at First Baptist to
instruct them in the love of Jesus Christ. All are detailed on the
Children's Ministry page, including AWANA, Vacation Bible School, Children's
Church, Summer Programming, Kid's of the Kingdom Children's Choir, and
Children's Parties. Sunday School classes are also available every Sunday morning in age appropriate groups.
College Outreach:
Not only do we at First Baptist reach out to our member college students, but
we have partnered with the local colleges as a Mission Outreach to those
attending who desire the support of a church family while away from their
homes. First Baptist is particularly noted for its support of our
International Students. A college Sunday School Class is available
every Sunday morning, special times of fellowship through outings and meals,
and support of the college students activities held at their schools.
Library: An
extensive library is tirelessly maintained and its resources available to
all. The Library is located on the office level of the church.
Men's Ministry: The Men's
Ministry at First Baptist places its foundation on the rock - Jesus Christ
(Matthew 7: 24-25). Our ministry strives to love God through our
Praise and Worship, to love one another through Fellowship;
to bring other men to Christ through Evangelism; to help
others through our Service; and to teach one another through
Discipleship. Please visit the Men's Ministry Page to
learn more about the programming and activities.
Missions:

First Baptist is blessed to have a multitude of talent shared by members in
many ways.

special anthems during Worship service, help
leads the church with hymns, and performs additional programs and cantatas
throughout the year. *The
Praise Team, led by Laura Surface, shares their talents of
worship in songs of Praise with accompaniment of bass guitar, keyboard,
acoustic guitar, violin, flute, drums, and other instruments. *Joysong,
a quartet of lovely ladies voices, offers a special touch to many occasions.*Kids
of the Kingdom, the children's choir directed by Cindy Frank,
delights the congregation with special songs several times during the year.

Women's Ministry
First Baptist Women's Ministry is a very active organization of the church.
Our ladies meet monthly for business meetings where they plan the projects
and missions they support. Current ongoing support is given to Weirton
Christian Center, the Meals on Wheels program of Wheeling, Appalachian
Outreach, 2 missionary families from West Virginia who serve on the
International level, provide turbans to local physician's offices, gathering
supplies for those traveling from our church on Mission trips. We have
also entered into a partnership with our teen girls in a mentoring program.
The women enjoy fun outings, workshops, organizing an annual Women's Sunday
church service, special meals together, and participation in a "Secret
Sister Program." The theme for the 2007 year is based upon
"Sweet Fellowship."
