CURRENT EVENTS AND SCHEDULE

May 10th:  7:00 PM  Agape class sponsors Movie Night in Fellowship Hall.

May 11: Mother's Day - Communion Sunday.  9:45 AM  Sunday School for all ages.  11:00 AM  Worship Service - The ladies of the church to be honored. 6:00 PM  Discipleship Now classes.

May 12: 7:00 PM  Board of C.E. Meeting.

May 14:  5:00 PM  Church Family Dinner 6:00 PM  AWANA - Store Night.  6:15 PM  Adult Bible Study, Youth Group at The House. 7:30 PM  Choir Rehearsal.

May 17:  9:30 AM  Youth Group Trip to Kenneywood.

May 18:  11:00 AM. Graduation Sunday observed during worship service. (Please turn in pictures and information to the office by today for the Memorial service to be held on May 25th to honor our deceased church family members.

May 25th:  First Baptist Church's Annual Memorial Observation Sunday.  A portion of the worship service will be dedicated to honor church family loved ones who have passed away in the last year. 

May 28:  5:00 PM  Annual Steak Fry.  Reservations required by May 25th. 6:15 PM  AWANA Closing Ceremony 7:30 PM  Choir Rehearsal.

Beginning Wednesday, June 4th, the Wednesday Night Activities will begin at 6:30 PM for the summer months.  No Wednesday  night dinners.

CELEBRATING OUR 175th YEAR IN 2008

First Baptist Church has maintained a continual evangelical Baptist witness in Wheeling, WV since 1833. The present  Church building, dedicated in 1960, consists of five floor levels, all easily accessible by our state of the art elevator system, opening on each floor to lobbies, three of which are flooded with natural light from the outdoors.  The church is situated along historic National Road in picturesque Wheeling.  Surrounded by the beauty of renown parks and the Ohio River, our community is rich in tradition and resources.  At First Baptist, we continue to uphold our religious tradition through a solid Bible based scriptural doctrine offering Worship services, Bible studies, Sunday school classes and special events for all ages. This church is affiliated with the Panhandle Baptist Association and the West Virginia Baptist Convention.
